Hello everybody, that’s me, Kate again. Today, I am going to tell you some history stories about Disney. Are you ready? If you say “Yes”, here we go.
In the late of 1920, Walt Disney designed a mouse and named it as “Mortimer Mouse”, but his wife Lily preferred Mickey. This is the process how Mickey is occurred. I like the name Mickey Mouse rather than Mortimer Mouse.
When the first of Mickey’s Cartoon “Plane Crazy” finished, Walt Disney showed it to the distributors, but nobody felt interested of it. However, Walt Disney had not given up, he had a idea to shoot the cartoon with sounds. (At that time, cartoons were not with sounds.) At the date of 18 November of 1928, “Steamboat Willie” was occurred and became the first one of cartoons with sounds. Many people went to cinema not for watching the film, they just wanted to watched the cartoon before the film, “Steamboat Willie”.
Since the success of “Steamboat Willie”, Walt Disney published a colorful cartoon called “Flower and Tree”. After that, Donald Duck, Daisy, Goofy, and some famous Disney characters were born one by one with success. To have some challenge, Walt Disney decided to shoot “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”. Many criticisms said that people were not willing to spend money to go to cinema for watching a cartoon. Luckily, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” attracted many people and awarded for many prizes. The success of Snow Whit and the Seven Dwarfs helped to start a new page animation.
With the spirit of creativity, innovation and excellence, it made Disney to become a famous international brand name. I think everybody know Mickey Mouse very well and would not feel strange.
We will update our blog as possible as we can. We will tell you more about Disney coming soon. Don’t miss the chance to know more about Disney.
Cheers,
Kate
